Saxofon player gives its musician a wild crest. A figure in a blue tunic plays a golden saxophone, topped by a tall red-and-pink plume like a fan over the head. Behind, a crowded jumble of pale houses fills the canvas in muted ochres, greys and faded blues. Roman Zuzuk painted this oil on canvas in 2001, a small upright at 22 by 26 centimetres, the surface scraped and built up so the town reads almost as relief.
