The cobbles are wet and do most of the work, catching the warm orange of shop signs and the cooler light of the sky in long reflections down the middle of the street. Overhead the tram wires cross against the buildings. People move along the pavements in quick dark strokes. The mood sits right between day and night, the moment the lights come on but the sky has not gone fully dark. Loose, lively brushwork throughout.
