Morning in Prague looks across the Vltava towards the dark spired bridge tower at the head of Charles Bridge, with the bridge's stone arches stretching off to the right and statues lined along its parapet. In the foreground a wooden jetty holds a cluster of moored rowing boats, a couple of them with red interiors, and a single tree in full autumn orange blazes out against the pale grey buildings behind.
The sky and water are muted silver-grey, with faint reflections breaking up the river's surface, and a figure with an umbrella stands on the near bank. Slutsker lays the autumn foliage on thick and bright so it carries the whole picture, while the rest stays cool and hazy. Oil on canvas, upright at 65 by 85 centimetres, from 2019.
