Country Music is a busy, brightly coloured oil on canvas from 2020, 84 by 58 centimetres. Across the lower half three musicians stand among a row of little white houses with red roofs: a child in yellow with a round drum, a figure in white playing a violin, and another in white piping on a flute or recorder.
Above them two big white roosters face each other across the rooftops, beak to beak. Higher still the sky is filled with a dense, repeating pattern of grey fish-like shapes, and from it rise a grey city skyline on the right and a green hill with red houses on the left.
The colour is bold and the brushwork chunky, with strong reds, greens and purples zig-zagging up the sides. Roman Zuzuk packs the canvas with incident and lets town and country, music and animals share one cheerful space.
