About the work

A nude woman stands from behind, turned far enough to show the curve of one breast, an arm raised toward her piled-up hair. Olga Vasilyeva keeps the washes warm and quiet, soft browns and ochres along the back with cooler blue in the hair. The body trails off into bare paper below the thigh. Thoughts Within is a watercolour from 2019, upright at 33 by 70 centimetres.
