About the work

A nude woman stands facing forward with both arms raised to her hair, head tilted to one side. Olga Vasilyeva paints the body in soft, watery flesh tones, the breasts and torso lightly modelled and the lower half loosened into pale blue and grey strokes. The face is gentle, with a small note of red at the lips. The Girl Straightening Her Hair is a watercolour from 2019, upright at 33 by 70 centimetres.
