An open stretch of sea at evening, painted in oil on canvas. Low waves roll in across the foreground, their crests broken into thick white foam laid on with the knife, while the water shifts from soft turquoise to pale aqua. The horizon sits low and the upper half of the canvas is all sky, a quiet wash of lilac-grey clouds with cool blue breaking through. Mikora keeps the whole thing gentle and luminous rather than dramatic, more a calm swell than a storm. Nearly square at 118 by 99 centimetres.
