A powerful nighttime cityscape that masterfully combines impressionistic light study with a bold, expressionistic execution. The iconic Charles Bridge tower and ancient stone statues emerge from the midnight darkness, brought to life by the dramatic, burning amber glow of streetlights. The defining feature of this artwork is its complex structural depth, achieved through a rich interplay of techniques. The artist seamlessly blends traditional brushwork and dynamic palette knife textures with an expressive "tube drawing" technique, squeezing pure oil paint directly onto the canvas to create raised, three-dimensional lines. Adding a delicate final layer of detail, the artist utilizes sgraffito elements, scratching fine, intricate lines into the wet paint. This juxtaposition of heavy, sculptural impasto and sharp, scratched-in drawings transforms the quiet mystery of Prague into a vivid, highly tactile sensory experience.
