About the artwork

A standing female figure, printed in soft sea-green, with a cloth wound around the head like a turban so the face is hidden. The whole sheet is worked over with restless, watery hatching, and behind the figure you can make out a low harbour or shoreline with small boats. The torso seems to rise straight out of that scratchy sea. An etching by Gennadij Alexandrov, signed and dated 2023, numbered 89/100. About 14.5 by 20.3 centimetres.
