About the work

The same kind of standing female nude, again cut off at the thighs, but here printed in warm earth tones, ochre and rust against a cooler grey-green ground patterned like rough tiling. Alexandrov scratches the body in with hundreds of fine drypoint strokes, so the figure reads as much through texture as through outline, light pooling on the belly and the underside of one breast. Signed and dated 2025. A small sheet, plate roughly 10.7 by 16 centimetres.
