A wide, glowing tangle of flowers fills this panoramic painting on silk by Helena Tener. The blooms are pale cream and soft yellow, their loose petals curling and overlapping, and each one opens onto a shaggy centre packed with golden-orange filaments tipped in tiny dots of light. Nothing sits on a dark ground here. Instead the whole surface is bathed in warm amber and honey tones, so the flowers seem lit from within and the edges melt softly into the haze. Worked in acrylic on silk, 140 by 70 centimetres, from 2018, it carries the catalogue title Snowdrop Flowers.
