About Helena Tener

Helena Tener is a visual artist from Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. She graduated from the Kazan Art College named after N. Feshin in 1984, where she received formal training in the fine arts. For over fifteen years, she worked as a costume designer at the Tatar Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet, contributing original designs to a wide range of stage productions. Her background in theatre has greatly influenced her sensitivity to form, movement, and colour. In recent years, Helena has dedicated herself fully to painting. She works primarily with acrylic on silk, using a distinctive authorial technique that she has developed over time. Her work is recognised for its delicate detail, luminous palette, and a deep connection to nature and the poetic qualities of everyday life. Her paintings are held in private collections across Europe, the United States, Iran, and Bali. She currently lives and works in Prague, Czech Republic, and is a member of the Professional Artists Union.
