About the artwork

A large hand-coloured linocut in mossy greens and warm gold. In the upper half a bespectacled figure sits with a long quill, head propped on a hand over an open book, the page lit by a glow of orange. The lower half is filled by a striped tabby cat standing square and facing out, its big eyes meeting yours. The drawing is loose and dreamlike. Numbered 1/200 and signed by Gennadij Alexandrov, dated 2008. Around 29.1 by 40.1 cm.
