About the artwork

A nude female figure with the head of a praying mantis, large faceted eyes and feelers above a slender human body. One arm rises behind the head, the other drops to the side, all in crisp black and white. Behind her, taut lines radiate outward like a stretched web. Gennadij Alexandrov makes the aquatint and etching feel both anatomical and alien. Signed in pencil, numbered 41 from an edition of 100, dated 2022.
