About the artwork

The same seated smoker as the coloured version, here in plain grey and black. A woman sits with one hand raised to the cigarette at her lips, the other arm folded across her knee. The face is long, the eyes narrow, the hair a short fringe. Behind her a crosshatched chair back and a web of stray scratches cover the plate. This print by Gennadij Alexandrov is signed in pencil and dated 2008, with an artist's-proof note.
