About the work

A seated nude reaches both arms up behind her head, eyes closed, in this small drypoint by Gennadij Alexandrov. Her body is built from soft sepia and cream tones; behind her runs a loose tangle of black lines, like reeds or a net laid over a pale ground. The face is reduced to a few dark marks. Signed and dated 2021, numbered 8 from an edition of 50, with a Russian title noted in pencil.
