About the artwork

A reclining nude in warm reds and ambers, drawn with one long contour line that sweeps from the raised arm down through the hips. Gennadij Alexandrov keeps the figure almost flat and golden against a darker red ground patterned with curling leaf shapes. The plate is scratched all over with fine drypoint lines, which gives the warm body its grainy glow. Signed in pencil and numbered from an edition of 150.
