About the artwork

Printed in warm amber on a wood-grained ground, this etching sets out a loose grid of panels, each with a female figure drawn in fine outline. At the centre an embracing couple lean cheek to cheek, framed by single nudes around the edges, with several five-pointed stars scattered through the design. Alexandrov keeps everything to spare line over the glowing brown. Inscribed "1/25" with a title and "C3" at lower left, and pencil-signed.
