Open water, painted from down near the surface so the breaking wave fills the foreground. In Windy Day at Sea, Mikhail Mikora sets a green-and-white roller against choppy blue-green swell that runs back to a low horizon, where two small white sailboats lean into the wind on the right. Tall summer clouds pile up overhead. The oil on canvas, from 2022, leans on thick worked paint for the foam and a smoother hand for the sky. It measures 95 by 70 centimetres.
