A tall blue arched window, the fan of glazing bars at its top like a half sun, sits buried in a wild summer garden. Climbing plants spill across the wall around it, orange and red blooms tangled with hollyhocks and pale flowers below, and sunlight rakes through the leaves in bright streaks. Slutsker lays the whole thing on in dense, jewel-like palette-knife strokes so the foliage almost vibrates, the cool blue of the window the one still point. It is an upright oil on canvas, 65 by 115 centimetres, from 2023.
