A girl skips across a bright, almost empty room, one foot lifted mid-step. She wears a dark navy dress with a white collar and turned-back cuffs over dark tights and shoes, her reddish hair in a long plait that flies out behind her, and small glasses on her face. The space around her is bare, just pale warm grey wall and floor.
Shulman paints the skirt swinging with the movement and keeps the room blank so nothing distracts from the figure. White Room is oil on canvas from 2024, a large square at 100 by 100 centimetres.
