Slutsker paints Charles Bridge from the water, looking along its flank so the stone arches and the row of statues on the parapet stride off into a misty distance. The piers sit on green-roofed ice-breakers, and the old sandstone is built up in patchy, sunlit blocks of palette-knife paint. A bare tree with a few yellow leaves leans in from the upper left, and beyond the bridge the riverside buildings and a faint tower dissolve into a soft grey haze. The Vltava below is calm, brushed in cool greys with a flicker of reflection. An oil on canvas from 2023, 70 by 50 centimetres, signed lower right.
