Two boys sit on a rocky outcrop that rises out of flat blue water, their backs to us. The one in front, in a white shirt and dark trousers, holds a long thin fishing rod out over the water, while his friend leans back beside him in a sleeveless top. The rock is built up in warm ochres and rust against the cool, almost monochrome blue of the sea and sky. Tom and Hack is a small oil on canvas, 70 by 60 centimetres, painted by Dima Dmitriev in 2022.
