Three cats sit in a row on the cobblestones, and behind them the rooftops of Prague climb towards a pair of baroque domes on the left and the spires of the castle cathedral on the right. The cats are tabby, striped and watchful, each turned a little differently, while a thread of smoke rises into a pale, scratched sky. Gennadij Alexandrov drew the scene in drypoint and etching, so the fur and the roof tiles share the same fine network of lines. Signed in pencil and dated 2023, from an edition numbered 31/500. Plate roughly 20 by 14 centimetres.
