Most of this canvas is sky. Great soft billows of grey and cream cloud pile up over a green-turquoise sea, painted in oil on canvas with heavy, crusted impasto that gives the clouds real bulk. Down at the waterline a low wave runs in, and two small children play in the foam, one of them lifting an arm. A faint headland trails off on the right. Mikora keeps the people tiny so the weather dominates. Large and nearly square at 115 by 100 centimetres.
