A generous bunch of lilac in a plain glass, painted in oil on canvas. The blooms read mostly deep rose-red and white rather than pale purple, heaped thick and clustered, with green leaves pushing out between them. Mikora lays the paint on heavily with knife and brush so the flowers stand off the surface in granular dabs. The background is a soft grey and the table a cool pale blue. Squarish at 110 by 100 centimetres, it is dense and tactile, all about the mass of blossom.
