Summer Breeze splits cleanly into two halves. The top is a thick wall of dark red blossom over near-black, the bottom a strip of green grass, and where they meet, low in the frame, a woman walks in a long white dress and a straw hat. Her hair and a few red flowers blow sideways in the wind, and she holds a small bunch against her. The contrast of the heavy red field above and the small bright figure below gives the little canvas its punch. Oil on canvas by Dima Dmitriev, 2020, square at 90 by 90 centimetres.
