A woman in a blue dress strides forward through a bed of red tulips, her long brown hair streaming out in a wide golden sweep behind her. The hair frames a round orb packed with a little world of its own: stone houses, green bushes, tiny figures and a dark shape that might be a horse. The sky washes from pink to peach. It is the hair, turned into landscape, that carries the picture.
