Green washes streak through the dark tousled hair and pool into a big green bow tie at the throat, set against a violet ground. Alexandrov uses hand-colouring over drypoint, the watercolour laid loosely so the green almost drips. The plate is small, about 12.6 by 15.6 centimetres.
