A young girl walks across the canvas in profile, her long blonde hair streaming back from her face. She wears a dark dress with a white collar and turned-back cuffs over dark tights, her step caught mid-stride. The pale grey-white ground is brushed loosely, almost scrubbed, with no detail to pin down the place.
Shulman keeps the paint quick and fresh, the hair and skirt smeared with movement. Silent Dance is oil on canvas from 2025, a square 50 by 50 centimetres.
