Proposal plays out in a green field. A red-haired man in a green sweater kneels on the grass and reaches up with a single white flower toward a blonde woman in a red dress; she stands with her hands pressed to her chest, half-smiling. Behind them a row of round, pinkish trees runs along a band of blue hills. Roman Zuzuk worked this in encaustic on canvas in 2004, 51 by 45 centimetres, the warm wax surface lending the whole tender moment its soft, even light.
