This upright oil on canvas looks down through a terraced baroque garden in full sun. Stone balustrades and a curving stairway climb the slope, half shaded by leaves that hang in over the top of the picture, and a domed building sits among more greenery in the distance. Slutsker works the light in thick, bright dabs of palette knife, the cream stonework glowing against cool shadow on the path. At 40 by 50 centimetres it is one of his smaller pieces, dated 2025.
