A lone figure in pale clothes plays a red violin under a heavy pink moon. Roman Zuzuk sets the player in a green meadow scattered with daisies, head tipped back, while behind rise rolling ochre hills dotted with little houses and dark cypresses. Pink moon is an encaustic on canvas from 2010, 49 by 43 centimetres, the wax giving the dusky sky its soft, smudged glow.
