Pianist and his friends is a bright watercolour by Roman Zuzuk from 2012. A figure in purple sits at a black grand piano, and an unlikely audience has gathered round it: a big blue bird with a red crest on the left, a red rooster perched on the lid, an orange-clad figure with white wings in the middle, and a plain brown-suited man on the right. The whole thing floats on a green and ochre wash. It is a small sheet, 36 by 26 centimetres.
