She wears a turquoise garment and seems to rest against a dark shape, perhaps a window ledge or a piano. Ahead of her the houses climb the slope in warm reds and ochres towards a tower at the top, under a streaky yellow sky. Roman Zuzuk made Love in encaustic on canvas in 2006, an upright 41 by 92 centimetres, framed it measures 108 by 57. The wax surface is rubbed and lined, giving the whole view a soft, hazy glow.
