A close portrait of a young girl wearing a thick wreath of white daisies, looking straight out at us. Alexey Slusar painted Little Girl with Daisies in oil on canvas in 2022, 78 by 60 centimetres.

The flowers sit heavy in her fair hair and trail down one side of her face, and more white blooms cluster at her shoulder. The whole canvas is keyed to a warm golden tone, so the white of the daisies and the pale skin of her face stand out from it. Her expression is calm and direct, and the paint is softest around the edges where the background dissolves into light.
