About the work

A large head of Franz Kafka, his dark hair scattered with white flecks like falling snow, his eyes fixed forward. Along the bottom edge Gennadij Alexandrov sets the rooftops, domes and a street lamp of Prague, so the city sits below the chin. The aquatint and etching are worked in greys and blacks. Signed in pencil, titled Kafka, Praha, numbered 52 from an edition of 500, dated 2022.
