A woman in a pink dress with blond hair reaches up to set a little bunch of red tulips on the head of a man in grey, who stands with his arms folded and a bashful look. They are out in a yellow-green field, and in the distance two smaller men walk away, one of them carrying a small green tree like a placard. Roman Zuzuk painted Gardener in oil on canvas in 2004, a 49 by 49 centimetre square. The surface is textured and lightly scratched, the figures drawn with his usual long noses and gentle, knowing faces.
