An expressive night scene of the flight into Egypt, drawn in flowing line. Mary, in a pale draped veil, holds the child close, both riding the donkey whose long head fills the left, while a bearded Joseph walks alongside at the right with his staff. A thin crescent moon hangs in the dark sky with a couple of flower-like stars. Gennadij Alexandrov combines drypoint with aquatint here, the aquatint laying in the soft grey of the night. Inscribed in Cyrillic, "C4+C5", and signed, 2004.
