Evening Melody is a warm, good-humoured portrait of a bearded musician in a flat cap and round glasses, caught in the middle of playing his violin. He has the bow drawn across the strings and a contented half-smile on his face. To his right, on a small table, sit a bottle, a glass of red wine and a couple of split pomegranates, their seeds glowing red against the dark brown background. Slutsker keeps the setting simple and the lighting warm, so everything points back to the player's expression. Painted in oil, 80 by 60 centimetres, in 2020.
