An open glazed garden door, half ajar, set into a wall thick with greenery and flowering climbers. Through the panes you catch a glimpse of an interior, with what looks like a seated figure and a blue cloth, while the doorway frames a sunlit path leading further into the garden. White and red blossoms spill across the foreground and a clay pot sits at the lower left. The light is soft and full of summer, and Slutsker keeps the brushwork loose and broken so the garden feels overgrown and alive. Oil on canvas, nearly square at 100 by 95 centimetres, from 2023.
