A calico cat has found the warmest spot it could: a worn stone ledge under an old farmhouse window, where the late sun falls straight onto its fur. Alexey Slusar painted this quiet corner in oil in 2022. Behind the glass sits a bundle of dried wheat and a few faded flowers, and the plaster wall around it is cracked and patched with age. The cat sleeps with its tail hanging over the edge, completely at ease. It is a small, ordinary moment, the kind you walk past without noticing.
