About the artwork

The sea is still moving but the worst has passed. Green and turquoise waves roll in one after another, their crests breaking into white foam, while the heavy clouds above begin to split and let a pale rainbow through. A single sail sits far out on the horizon. The water is painted thickly, with the foam laid on in raised strokes you could almost feel. This wide oil seascape, 110 by 70 centimetres, is the work of Mikhail Mikora.
