Three pale irises rise out of the lower half of this large square canvas, their petals worked in creams and warm whites with grey shadows, the biggest bloom opening at the top and two smaller flowers below it. Shulman splits the background into two bands, a flat grey above and a strong orange below, with paint left to drip down in thin runs over both. Stencilled across the orange in faint letters is the French phrase profitez de chaque instant, make the most of every moment. Oil on canvas from 2024, a 120 by 120 centimetre square.
